Banana Almond Protein Brownies

Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas
1/2 cup almond butter (smooth or crunchy based on preference)
1/4 cup cacao powder (for a deep chocolate flavor)
Optional: cacao nibs or chocolate chunks for extra texture and chocolatey bites
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Prepare an 8-inch square baking dish by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it to prevent sticking.
Mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl. You want them to be quite smooth. This will be the base of your brownie batter, providing natural sweetness and moisture.
Add the almond butter to the mashed bananas. Mix them together until you achieve a consistent and smooth mixture. The almond butter not only adds a rich, nutty flavor but also contributes to the moist, fudgy texture of the brownies.
Sift in the cacao powder, ensuring to break any lumps, and mix until well combined. The cacao powder will give your brownies a deep chocolate flavor without the added sugar found in regular chocolate.
If you're using them, fold in the cacao nibs or chocolate chunks at this stage. This is optional, but it can add a nice texture and pockets of melted chocolate throughout the brownies.
Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish. Spread it out evenly with a spatula or the back of a spoon.
Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean. Remember, these brownies will continue to set as they cool, so it’s okay if the toothpick has a few crumbs sticking to it.
Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then lift out (if you used parchment paper) onto a wire rack to cool completely. This step is crucial for getting brownies that hold together well.
Slice and enjoy! Once cooled, cut the brownies into squares. These brownies are rich and satisfying, making them a perfect post-workout treat or a healthy dessert option.
